Our Latest E.R. Visit

Who would have thought it would be me? Funny thing, in the January ward newsletter we were asked what our family new year's resolution was. We told them "no more ER visits in 2008." That just printed and went out at the first of the month. Guess it's alot tougher to keep those resolutions than one might think. So, here's the story behind the accident. I was walking up the back walkway of our house and was holding a cell phone in one hand (yes talking of course) and a Wendy's bag in the other. Lucky for me it had just snowed a slight skiff an hour before, covering up all the ice. So, down I went, being unable to stop the fall with my entire weight buckling under me on my left leg. Instantly I knew I had broke it. Not the case, ER x-rays showed no brake. However, there still is a chance that I pulled some ligaments, not cool. I cannot put any weight whatsoever on my foot, so I am hobbling around on crutches. As you can see I have a "cankle" (calf-ankle) on my left leg. Also the bruising and swelling is quite bad. I won't know for a while if it is more serious than a sprain, and I'm just hoping and praying there are no tears.

Your mother told me last night that you had posted pictures-and are they graphic. Too bad I don't have pictures of my running accident some 20+ years ago so we could compare. I won't tell you how long your mother said my purple & black remained. This is tough luck.
