Another E.R. Visit

Kelton can't seem to avoid the big accidents. He was making a fort out of couch cushions and fell off the fort onto the brick fireplace. This was on a Sunday night (just like the broken leg) so we had to make a second ER visit in 3 months. He was treated and received 2 stitches.

Uncle Blake Returns

On December 29th, Blake Shaffer returned from the Charlotte North Carolina Mission. On the same day one of Amy's cousins got married. Braden was the ring bearer and was all decked out in a fancy tuxedo.

The Day After

Now that Christmas has come and gone, its time to play with all our cool stuff. The boys loved the "BIG" piano from Grandma and Grandpa Sandgren, Kelton loves the new guitar from Santa and his train set from mom and dad, and Braden can't get enough of his learning leapster from Grandpa and Grandma Shaffer.

Christmas Day

Christmas day at Grandma and Grandpa Sandgren's was a fun time for our family, and ah yes, more presents for the boys to open.

Christmas Morning

Braden and Kelton were so excited for Christmas this year, for Kelton moreso than his other 2 Christmas mornings. Kelton got the guitar he asked Santa for and Braden got a few transformers, "just not the one he wanted."

Matching Boys

Just before Christmas this year Grandpa Shaffer bought the boys matching outfits. Braden and Kelton wore them to church today and looked so sharp. When the boys got home from church today they found some old-school plastics diaper covers in the closet and thought they would have a little fun.

Once There was a Snowman

It snowed earlier in the week so Dad went outside at around 9:00 pm to build a snowman. The boys were so stoked for its completion. For our family Christmas card this year we took pictutes in front of Frosty.

Santa Clause is Coming to Twon

The boys were so excited to see Santa Clause this year at the ward Christmas party. Braden asked Santa for none else than the Optimus Prime Transformer, and Kelton asked for a guitar.

A Wise Boy

This year Braden played the role of one of the wise men in the ward christmas play. His line was, "I offer you a gift of Frankincense."

The night of Halloween we all went around the neighborhood to trick or treat. Braden even hooked up with some friends along the way.

I Do MY Own Stunts!

Kelton went in this day to get his hard cast off. As he put's it he's "good as new." Notice the shirt he's wearing, we found the statement on front to be very applicable, "I do all my own stunts."

Fall Soccer - Braden

Here is a video clip of Braden kicking the ball up the field. This was one of the more rare moments of Braden getting in the action. Normally, he would simply run in a pack of kids down the field following the ball.

Soccer Man

Braden played soccer this fall for the second time. He finally caught his groove near the end of the season and really started to enjoy it. He is usually the smallest player on his team, but that doesn't stop him from taking a few cracks at the ball every now and again. The top picture is of Braden and one of his best friends, Zac. They try to spend as much time as the can together playing transformers, when they are not on the soccer field.

A Day at Gardner Village

Shortly before halloween Amy took the boys to Gardner Village to see all of the witches they put up during the month of October. These were some cute pictures Amy took fo Braden and Kelton.

We have a standing Halloween party every year with all of our friends. All of the kids come dressed up and usually most of the adults. Braden's favorite things to do right now is to play transformers with his friend Zach. Braden usually stays on these kicks for 3-4 months then moves on to the latest a greatest thing. It at one time was dinosaurs, then ninja turtles and now transformers. This one has lasted a bit longer than normal. He has quite a collection of transformers action figures now, and his favorite of course is Optimus Prime. So when Amy asked Braden what he wanted to be for Halloween, the answer for him was easy, regardless of how much the costume was to cost mom and dad. Amy tracked it down online, and paid nearly $20 more than what she would have paid if she could have found it at Target, which is where the ebay seller bought it. But no luck for us, transformer costumes were all sold out in the local stores.

Kelton was very adamant about his costume as well, he of course could only be Buzz Lightyear. Kelton is now very independent as you all know. In fact, he is too independent. He is a stubborn little man for a 2 year old. Everything has to be his way or he'll let you know about it. Luckily for us a freind had this Buzz Lightyear costume that we borrowed so we didn't have to track this one down on our own. While at the party Kelton hooked up with another renowned super hero, none other than super woman? As you can see, she was very much into Kelton, hanging on his every word. After the party they were able to capture a few bad guys together as well.

Kelton at Play

Nothing is going to keep this Kid down. After the "accident," Kelton was hesitant to walk on the cast for a little while, but before long he was walking around and playing as if nothing happened. These are some pictures of Kelton riding in the motorized jeep and riding his 3 wheeler. Dad and Kelton spent and entire afternoon in the backyard playing and having fun. Once Kelton gets to go outside, its difficult to convince him to come back in. Kelton spent so much time on his feet that he wore a lot of the color off the heal of his cast. It is amazing to me how adaptable little kids can be. He has not complained about his situation too much, he simply realized that was how it was going to be for a little while and learned to deal with his limitations. IF only we were all this way.
